Deficiency of gluconeogenic enzyme PCK1 promotes metabolic-associated fatty liver disease through PI3K-AKT-PDGF axis activation in male mice
On March 14, 2023,Ni Tang, Department of Infectious Diseases, The Second Affiliated Hospital, Chongqing Medical University, China, and his team published a paper titled “Deficiency of gluconeogenic enzyme PCK1 promotes metabolic-associated fatty liver disease through PI3K/AKT/PDGF axis activation in male mice” in Nature Communications. They showed that hepatic PCK1 deficiency may be important in hepatic steatosis and fibrosis development through paracrine secretion of PDGF-AA in male mice. The kits [ELISA Kit for Platelet Derived Growth Factor AA (PDGFAA), SEA523Mu, SEA523Hu] of Cloud-Clone brand was chosed in this article, we are so proud for supporting the reaserchers.Metabolic as......

New discoveries in epilepsy research
Epilepsy occurswhen there is abnormal synchronous neuronal firing in a section of the brain, or throughout the entirety of the brain. In children, the most common causes of epilepsy are genetic, injury due to perinatal insults, and malformations of cortical development. In adults without a genetic predisposition to epilepsy, common etiologies for seizures include encephalitis/meningitis, traumatic brain injury, and brain tumors. In elderly patients, epilepsyis usually the result of primary neurodegenerative disorders, head trauma, and brain tumors. Recently, some papers have reported epilepsy related research, which may provide help for the prevention and treatment of epilepsy.1. Compr......

New advances in blood glucose metabolism
Insulin is the key hormone for regulation of blood glucose and, generally, normoglycaemia is maintained by the balanced interplay between insulin action and insulin secretion. Importantly, the normal pancreatic β-cell can adapt to changes in insulin action—ie, a decrease in insulin action is accompanied by upregulation of insulin secretion (and vice versa). However, there is a limit to this regulation, and when β-cell dysfunction or insulin resistance occurs, glucose tolerance is impaired leading to type 2 diabetes. Recently, a number of papers have reported the related studies of blood glucose metabolism, providing help for the prevention and treatment of such metabolic diseases.1......

Unsaturated bond recognition leads to biased signal in a fatty acid receptor
On March 2, 2023,Jin-Peng Sun, Key Laboratory Experimental Teratology of the Ministry of Education and Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Cheeloo College of Medicine, Shandong University, China, and his team published a paper titled “Unsaturated bond recognition leads to biased signal in a fatty acid receptor” in Science. They revealed how GPR120 differentiates rigid double bonds and flexible single bonds and may facilitate rational drug design targeting to GPR120.The kits [ELISA Kit for Inositol Triphosphate (IP3), CEC037Ge] of Cloud-Clone brand was chosed in this article, we are so proud for supporting the reaserchers.Individual fr......

New progress in research on myocardial infarction
Myocardial infarction(MI) is a term for anevent of heart attack. MI occurs when blood stops flowingproperly to a part of the heart, and the heart muscle isinjured because of lack of oxygen supply. And one of thecoronary arteries which supplies blood to the heart develops a blockage due to an unstable buildup of plaques, whiteblood cells, cholesterol and fat. If the event becomes serious then it is called as acute myocardialinfarction(AMI). Because adult cardiomyocyteshave little regenerative capacity, myocardial tissue lost in MIis replaced with fibrotic tissue, leading to cardiac dysfunction and Heart failure (HF).Recently, a number of papers have reported the research on cardiomyocyt......

Gut microbiota-derived metabolites mediate the neuroprotective efect of melatonin in cognitive impairment induced by sleep deprivation
On January 31, 2023, Yaoxing Chen, Neurobiology Laboratory, College of Veterinary Medicine, China Agricultural University, China, and his team published a paper titled “Gut microbiota-derived metabolites mediate theneuroprotective effect ofmelatonin incognitive impairment induced bysleep deprivation” in Microbiome. Their research showed that gut microbes and their metabolites mediate the ameliorative effects of melatonin on sleep deprivation-induced cognitive impairment. The kits [ELISA Kit for Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNFa), SEA133Mu; ELISA Kit for Interleukin 6 (IL6), SEA079Mu; ELISA Kit for Interleukin 4 (IL4), SEA077Mu; ELISA Kit for Interleukin 10 (IL10), SEA056Mu] of Cloud......
