Peroxidase (HRP)

Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is widely distributed in plants, and its content is high in horseradish root. It is a glycoprotein formed by the combination of colorless enzyme protein and brown iron porphyrin, and the sugar content is 18%. HRP has the characteristics of high specific activity, high stability and small molecular weight, so it is most commonly used. It is widely used in molecular biology to detect immune complexes and biological targets such as proteins, carbohydrates, and nucleic acids. HRP is often combined with antibodies, streptavidin, or other to white matter and is used as a biological system for probe-based immunoassay applications, including ICC, IHC, Western blotting, in situ hybridization (ISH), and ELISA.
