Cholera enterotoxin subunit A (CTA)

Cholera enterotoxin (CT) is an important toxin produced by Vibrio cholerae, which can cause severe diarrhea and vomiting, leading to severe dehydration. Cholera enterotoxin consists of two subunits, A subunit and B subunit. The A subunit is mainly responsible for binding to receptors on the cell membrane, while the B subunit is responsible for transporting toxins into the cell. Cholera enterotoxin subunit A is a key component of this toxin, which interacts with host cells to cause intestinal dysfunction and subsequently trigger cholera symptoms.
