COMM Domain Containing Protein 10 (COMMD10)
COMMD10 is a member of the newly discovered Copper Metabolism Murr1 Domain (COMMD) containing family of proteins. Interactions between COMMD2 and ENaC were examined using coimmunoprecipitation in COS-7 cells transiently transfected with ENaC and COMMD2. The functional effect of COMMD2 on ENaC was examined by comparing the amiloride-sensitive sodium current generated by ENaC-transfected FRT (Fisher rat thyroid) epithelial cells in the absence and presence of COMMD2.
COMMD2 interacts with ENaC, however the effect of this interaction is still unclear. It is possible that COMMD2 also regulates ENaC providing another mechanism by which body sodium homeostasis is maintained.
