Adenomatosis Polyposis Coli Down Regulated 1 Like Protein (APCDD1L)

[Edit]

Adenomatosis Polyposis Coli Down Regulated 1 Like Protein (APCDD1L)
APCDD1 is a 514 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein whose transcription is regulated by the β-catenin/ITF-2 complex. Expressed in high levels in ovary, heart, pancreas and prostate, with lower levels in spleen, lung, kidney, liver and colon, APCDD1 is thought to function as a developmental target of the β-catenin pathway and may play an important role in colorectal tumorigenesis. APCDD1L is a 501 amino acid membrane protein that is similar to APCDD1 and is encoded by a gene which localizes to chromosome 20. Comprising approximately 2% of the human genome, chromosome 20 contains nearly 63 million bases that encode over 600 genes, some of which are associated with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, spinal muscular atrophy, ring chromosome 20 epilepsy syndrome and Alagille syndrome.

Organism species: Homo sapiens (Human)
