Crm, Cramped Like Protein (CRAMP1L)
CRAMP1L (cramped-like 1), also known as hematopoietic- and neurologicexpressed sequence 1-like protein (HN1L) or T-complex expressed protein 4 (TCE4), is a 1,269 amino acid protein localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm. Belongs to the cramped family. Contains 1 SANT domain. The SANT domain is a novel motif found in a number of eukaryotic transcriptional regulatory proteins that was identified based on its homology to the DNA binding domain of c-myb.
CRAMP1L is a putative DNA binding protein and is expressed in a variety of tissues, such as liver, kidney, prostate, testis and uterus, at varying levels. CRAMP1L is highly conserved in vertebrates, and at least three CRAMP1L pseudogenes have been identified in the genomes of human, mouse and rat. Three isoforms of CRAMP1L exist as a result of alternative splicing events.
