G protein-coupled receptors comprise a large protein family of transmembrane receptors that sense molecules outside the cell and activate inside signal transduction pathways and, ultimately, cellular responses. G protein-coupled receptors are found only in eukaryotes, including yeast, choanoflagellates, and animals.
GPR146 is a member of the family of GPCRs. GPR146 is implicated in dyslipidaemias and is therefore a useful therapeutic and diagnostic target. GPR146 receptor is implicated in lipid metabolism and is a therapeutic and diagnostic target for dyslipidaemias. GPR146 polynucleotide is used in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment or prevention of dyslipidaemia.
