Serine/Arginine Rich Splicing Factor 15 (SRSF15)
SFRS15 likely encodes a member of the arginine/serine-rich splicing factor family. A similar protein in Rat appears to bind the large subunit of RNA polymerase II and provide a link between transcription and pre-mRNA splicing. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
SFRS15 an RNA binding protein that may physically and functionally link transcription and pre-mRNA processing. Two alternatively-spliced isoforms have been described. The complete sequence data of these 74 clones revealed that 45% of them encoded proteins consisting of more than 500 amino acid residues while all the clones thus selected carried possible protein coding sequences as expected.
