Nucleoside Diphosphate Linked Moiety X-Type Motif 9 (NUDT9)

[Edit]

Nudix Type Motif 9; ADP-ribose pyrophosphatase, mitochondrial; ADP-ribose diphosphatase; ADP-ribose phosphohydrolase; Adenosine diphosphoribose pyrophosphatase

Nucleoside Diphosphate Linked Moiety X-Type Motif 9 (NUDT9)
NUDT9 expression was detectable by RT-PCR in every tissue analyzed, including bone marrow, spleen, heart, leukocytes, liver, lung, kidney, prostate, testis, and skeletal muscle. The C-terminal region of LTRPC2 and NUDT9 share 50% homology and are also homologous to the Caenorhabditis elegans predicted protein EEED8.8. Sequence analysis of the 350-amino acid NUDT9 protein revealed the presence of a putative signal peptide/anchor and a nudix box (nucleoside diphosphate-linked moiety X motif). Nudix boxes are found in a family of diverse enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of nucleoside diphosphate derivatives. Recombinant NUDT9 expressed in Escherichia coli was a highly specific ADP-ribose pyrophosphatase (yielding AMP and ribose 5-phosphate).
