Zinc Finger Protein 92 (ZNF92)
By screening a cDNA library derived from a human undifferentiated embryonal carcinoma cell line with the coding sequence of the ZNF85 N-terminal nonfinger region, which spans the KRAB domain, Bellefroid et al. (1991) isolated cDNAs encoding 11 distinct KRAB zinc finger proteins, including ZNF92, which they called HTF12.
Bellefroid et al. (1993) reported the characterization of a subgroup of KRAB zinc finger proteins, named the ZNF91 family, of which ZNF92 is a member. These proteins contain a conserved linker region, called the ZNF91-related spacer region, between their N-terminal KRAB domain and their first finger unit. The authors found that members of the ZNF91 family are widely expressed in human tissues, with the highest expression in T-lymphoid cells.
