G Protein Coupled Receptor 126 (GPR126)
The deduced 1,222-amino acid protein has a calculated molecular mass of about 136 kD. The N-terminal signal sequence is followed by an extracellular domain with 27 N-glycosylation sites and a GPS domain. The C-terminal portion contains 7 C-terminal transmembrane domains, conserved cysteines, and a long cytoplasmic domain with a potential palmitoylation site, several potential phosphorylation sites, a myristoylation signal, and a microbodies C-terminal targeting motif.VIGR was detected in aortic endothelial cells and activated HUVECs, but not in skin microvascular endothelial cells. Immunoprecipitation analysis of activated HUVECs revealed a protein with an apparent molecular mass of 230 kD; treatment with an N-glycosylation inhibitor reduced the molecular mass to about 136 kD.
