F-Box And WD Repeat Domain Containing Protein 12 (FBXW12)
Members of the F-box protein family, such as FBXW12, are characterized by an approximately 40-amino acid F-box motif. SCF complexes, formed by SKP1, cullin, and F-box proteins, act as protein-ubiquitin ligases. F-box proteins interact with SKP1 through the F box, and they interact with ubiquitination targets through other protein interaction domains.
FBXW12 protein contains an F box in its N-terminal half, followed by 4 WD40 repeats. The deduced 464-amino acid protein has a calculated molecular mass of 53.1 kD. FBXW12 contains a conserved F-box domain. RT-PCR detected highest expression in placenta and brain and intermediate expression in all other tissues tested except prostate, testis, and peripheral blood leukocytes, which showed no expression.

Organism species: Homo sapiens (Human)
