AP20 Region Protein (APRG1)
APRG1 gene contains at least 7 exons and spans about 36.3 kb. There are 2 putative promoter/enhancer sites, the second of which is upstream of exon 2 and contains binding sites for the transcription factors LYF1 , delta-EF1 , TCF11, GATA, and others.
The longest protein, encoded by isoform B, contains 170 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 18.5 kD. It has a putative cell attachment sequence, arg-gly-asp, a C-terminal transmembrane domain, and possible sites for phosphorylation, N-myristoylation, and amidation. Northern blot analysis revealed low abundance of APRG1 mRNA. PCR analysis detected variants B and D highly expressed in pancreas, variant A highly expressed in kidney, and variants B and C highly expressed in placenta.

Organism species: Homo sapiens (Human)
