LRRC16C; Leucine Rich Repeat Containing 16C

RGD Motif, Leucine Rich Repeats, Tropomodulin Domain And Proline Rich Containing Protein (RLTPR)
The deduced 1,435-amino acid protein contains an RGD motif, a leucine-rich repeat (LRR), a tropomodulin domain within the leucine-rich repeat region, and a proline-rich region, as well as 4 potential N-linked glycosylation sites but no apparent transmembrane domain. A major transcription initiation site was located 121 bp upstream from the ATG codon, and 3 minor transcription initiation sites were located 49 to 64 bp downstream from the major transcription initiation site. RLTPR cDNA shares 72% and 63% identity with the rat and mouse homologs, respectively. The authors identified several splice variants for the RLTPR gene, none of which changed the phase of the open reading frame. Northern blot analysis detected a 4.7-kb RLTPR transcript in adult thymus with lower expression in adult spleen, peripheral blood leukocytes, and colon.
