DEP Domain Containing Protein 7 (DEPDC7)

By searching for genes in a region of chromosome 11 associated with WAGR syndrome, Gawin et al. (1999) identified and cloned DEPDC7, which they called TR2. Northern blot analysis of several human tissues detected a 2-kb TR2 transcript that was highly expressed in liver and moderately expressed in kidney. In mouse, Tr2 was highly expressed in liver and more weakly expressed in kidney. Little to no expression was detected in other adult mouse and human tissues examined, and no expression was detected in mouse embryos.

By analysis of a PAC contig covering chromosome 11p14.1-p13, Gawin et al. (1999) mapped the DEPDC7 gene to chromosome 11p13, centromeric to the GA17 gene (EIF3M) and telomeric to the CSTF3 gene.
