DEXH Box Polypeptide 58 (DHX58)
LGP2 contain 678 amino acids and have a DEAD/H box domain and a C-terminal helicase domain. The DEAD/H box domain contains a conserved ATP-binding motif, an ATPase motif, and an unwinding motif, and the helicase domain contains an RNA-binding motif.
Mouse and human LGP2 share 79% amino acid identity. Northern blot analysis detected a 2.4-kb Lgp2 transcript expressed at highest levels in mouse testis and liver. Lower levels were detected in mammary tissue, heart, spleen, and lung, with little to no expression in other tissues examined. Immunohistochemical analysis detected mouse Lgp2 evenly distributed in the cytoplasm of transfected HeLa cells.
