F-Box Protein 41 (FBXO41)
Members of the F-box protein family, such as FBXO41, are characterized by an approximately 40-amino acid F-box motif. SCF complexes, formed by SKP1, cullin , and F-box proteins, act as protein-ubiquitin ligases. F-box proteins interact with SKP1 through the F box, and they interact with ubiquitination targets through other protein interaction domains.
The deduced protein contains 821 amino acids. RT-PCR ELISA detected highest expression in fetal brain, followed in order by spleen, adult brain, heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas, testis, ovary, spinal cord, fetal liver, and skeletal muscle. Within specific brain regions, expression was highest in caudate nucleus and cerebellum, followed by amygdala, hippocampus, subthalamic nucleus, thalamus, substantia nigra, and corpus callosum.
