F-Box Protein 47 (FBXO47)

[Edit]

F-box only protein 47

F-Box Protein 47 (FBXO47)
FBXO47 gene contains 11 exons, with the first exon noncoding, and spans approximately 30 kb. has putative binding sites for Sp1 and UCE.2 in the promoter region and a CpG island in the first intron.FBXO47 (F-box only protein 47), encoding a deduced 453-amino acid protein with a calculated molecular mass of 52 kD.
The FBXO47 protein contains an F-box domain and a possible mitochondrial localization signal in the N-terminal region. FBXO47 was expressed in all normal tissues tested with highest expression in kidney, liver, and pancreas. They observed underexpression in corresponding tumor samples for these tissues, including renal cell and transitional cell carcinomas. FBXO47 may act as a tumor suppressor gene in renal carcinoma and possibly other malignancies.
