Caspase Recruitment Domain Family, Member 17 (CARD17)

[Edit]

INCA; Inhibitory CARD; Caspase-1 inhibitor INCA; Inhibitory caspase recruitment domain protein

Caspase Recruitment Domain Family, Member 17 (CARD17)
INCA levels were specifically upregulated by IFN-gamma in monocytic cell lines. INCA can self-associate and that it binds to the prodomain of CASP1, COP/pseudo-ICE, and ICEBERG. In contrast to COP/pseudo-ICE and CASP1, but similar to ICEBERG, INCA does not bind RIP2 and has no effect on the activity of NF-kappa-B signaling pathways. Like the related CARD-containing proteins ICEBERG and COP/pseudo-ICE, the deduced INCA protein is relatively short, containing only 110 amino acids and essentially composed of only a CARD domain that shares 81% sequence identity with the CARD domain of CASP1. RT-PCR analysis detected expression of INCA at highest levels in brain, heart, spleen, lung, and salivary gland; little or no expression was detected in stomach, thyroid, pancreas, prostate, skin, or HeLa cells.

Organism species: Homo sapiens (Human)
