Pleckstrin Homology Domain Containing Family A, Member 5 (PLEKHA5)

[Edit]

PEPP2; Phosphoinositol 3-phosphate-binding protein 2

Pleckstrin Homology Domain Containing Family A, Member 5 (PLEKHA5)
The deduced 1,060-amino acid PEPP2 protein contains 2 WW domains followed by a pleckstrin homology (PH) domain at its N terminus. It shares significant homology with PEPP1 and PEPP3 only within the PH domain. Northern blot analysis detected expression of a 4.6-kb transcript at high levels in heart and kidney and at lower levels in all other normal tissues examined. Expression was also detected in some cancer tissues.
The 3-prime untranslated region contains several SINEs, including Alu and MIR sequences. RT-PCR ELISA detected expression of PEPP2 at highest levels in ovary and at intermediate levels in all other adult tissues, fetal tissues, and specific adult brain regions examined.
