EU32; NERF; NERF-2; NERF-1A; NERF-1B; ETS-related transcription factor Elf-2; New ETS-related factor

E74 Like Factor 2 (ELF2)
ELF2 expressed in all fetal and adult tissues examined. Among fetal tissues, highest levels of expression detected in heart, lung, liver and kidney, and lower levels in brain. Among adult tissues, highest levels of expression detected in heart, placenta, lung, skeletal muscle, spleen, thymus, testis and ovary. Moderate expression in prostate, small intestine, kidney, liver and pancreas, and weak expression in colon, brain and peripheral blood lymphocytes.
Redundant binding correlated with housekeeping classes of genes, whereas specific binding examples represented more specialized genes. Redundant binding correlated with consensus ETS-binding sequences near transcription start sites, whereas specific binding sites diverged dramatically from the consensus and were further from transcription start sites.
