Pleckstrin Homology Domain Containing Family O, Member 1 (PLEKHO1)

[Edit]

CKIP-1; OC120; JBP; C-Jun-binding protein; Casein kinase 2-interacting protein 1; Osteoclast maturation-associated gene 120 protein

Pleckstrin Homology Domain Containing Family O, Member 1 (PLEKHO1)
CKIP1 interacted with full-length CSNK2A1 or with the N terminus of CSNK2A1. CKIP1 did not interact with CSNK2A2 or CSNK2B. The immunoprecipitated proteins showed CK2 activity. The deduced 409-amino acid protein has an N-terminal pleckstrin homology domain and a putative C-terminal JUN leucine zipper interactive domain. Northern blot analysis detected a major 1.5-kb transcript and a minor 4.4-kb transcript expressed at highest levels in skeletal muscle and heart. Intermediate expression was detected in brain, placenta, and lung, and weak expression was detected in liver, kidney, and pancreas. Fluorescence-tagged CKIP1 localized at the plasma membrane of transfected COS-7 cells. In human osteosarcoma cells, CKIP1 localized within the nucleus and at the plasma membrane.
