MYST Histone Acetyltransferase 3 (MYST3)
MYST3 contains two nuclear localization domains, a C2HC3 zinc finger, and a acetyltransferase domain. This structure suggests that MYST3 functions as a chromatin-bound acetyltransferase.MYST3 is important for proper development of hematopoietic stem cells. The MOZ gene encodes a predicted 2,004-amino acid, 225-kD polypeptide with 2 bipartite nuclear localization domains. MOZ is a founding member of a group of highly conserved proteins characterized by a single C2HC3 zinc finger in conjunction with a putative acetyltransferase consensus domain. MOZ also contains two C4HC3 zinc finger domains, protein-interaction motifs associated with chromatin-bound proteins. These motifs suggested to the authors that MOZ may represent a chromatin-bound acetyltransferase.
