Moloney Leukemia Virus 10 Homolog (MOV10)
By sequencing clones obtained from a fetal brain cDNA library, Nagase et al. (2000) cloned MOV10, which they designated KIAA1631. The deduced protein contains 1,032 amino acids. RT-PCR ELISA detected moderate expression in all tissues and specific brain regions examined.
Meister et al. (2005) copurified MOV10, a putative DEAD-box helicase, with a cytoplasmic HeLa cell protein complex containing AGO2 (EIF2C2), DICER, and TNRC6B. MOV10 had an apparent molecular mass of 130 kD.Meister et al. (2005) found that epitope-tagged MOV10 coimmunoprecipitated with tagged AGO1 (EIF2C1) and tagged AGO2. MOV10 was required to mediate microRNA-guided mRNA cleavage in HeLa cell culture.
