Armadillo Repeat Containing Protein 3 (ARMC3)
Armadillo/beta-catenin (CTNNB1)-like (ARM) domains are imperfect 45-amino acid repeats involved in protein-protein interactions. ARM domain-containing proteins, such as ARMC3, function in signal transduction, development, cell adhesion and mobility, and tumor initiation and metastasis. The deduced proteins contain 872 and 397 amino acids and share a common region containing 4 ARM repeats, 5 N-glycosylation sites, and several phosphorylation sites. The additional C-terminal sequence of the long isoform contains 2 ARM repeats, 3 N-glycosylation sites, and several phosphorylation sites. Northern blot analysis detected a major 3.0-kb transcript and a minor 1.5-kb transcript in testis and in the 2 cancer samples analyzed. RT-PCR showed ARMC3 expression in testis only among 27 normal tissues, but it was expressed in several cancer cell lines and tissues.

Organism species: Homo sapiens (Human)
