Sin3A Associated Protein 45kDa (SAP45)
SDS3 is a subunit of the histone deacetylase-dependent SIN3A corepressor complex. Database analysis indicated that the deduced 328-amino acid protein shares 99.6% identity with human SDS3 and 18% identity with yeast Sds3.
Analysis of a panel of adult mouse tissues detected broad expression of a 2.4-kb transcript, as well as a 1.8-kb transcript arising from an alternative polyadenylation signal. Expression analysis revealed a nuclear staining pattern. Western blot analysis of Sds3 in transiently transfected human embryonic kidney cells revealed an apparent molecular mass of about 48 kD, with a less prominent band of 52 kD when overexpressed.The deduced protein contains 328 amino acids. Northern blot analysis detected SDS3 expression in all human cell lines examined
