Islet Cells (ICs)

Islet cells, also known as islets of Langerhans, are clusters of cells found in the pancreas. These cells are responsible for producing and releasing hormones that regulate blood sugar levels, such as insulin and glucagon. Insulin helps to lower blood sugar levels by allowing cells to take in glucose from the bloodstream, while glucagon helps to raise blood sugar levels by releasing stored glucose from the liver. Dysfunction of islet cells can lead to conditions such as diabetes.
