Lipase, Diacylglycerol Beta (DAGLb)
Lipase,Diacylglycerol Beta(DAGLB) belongs to the AB hydrolase superfamily. Lipase family.Catalyzes the hydrolysis of diacylglycerol (DAG) to 2-arachidonoyl-glycerol (2-AG), the most abundant endocannabinoid in tissues. Required for axonal growth during development and for retrograde synaptic signaling at mature synapses. Diacylglycerol lipase, also known as DAG lipase, DAGL or DGL, is a key enzyme in the biosynthesis of the endocannabinoid 2-arachidonoylglycerol. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of diacylglycerol releasing a free fatty acid and monoacylglycerol. Two separate genes encoding DGL enzymes have been cloned, termed DGLα (DAGLA) and DGLβ (DAGLB), that share 33% sequence identity. DGL-α and -β may regulate neurite outgrowth by engaging temporally and spatially distinct molecular pathways.
