Protein Phosphatase 1, Regulatory Subunit 10 (PPP1R10)
Protein phosphatase-1 (PP1) is a serine/threonine phosphatase that exerts control over many aspects of cellular physiology by reversing the actions of protein kinases. The activity of its catalytic subunit is thought to be directed by interaction with a family of regulatory proteins. A subfamily of PP1 regulatory proteins, referred to as targeting subunits, may target PP1 to specific subcellular locations and modulate its activity toward specific substrates at these sites.
PPP1R10 isprotein with similarity to a rat protein that has an inhibitory effect on protein phosphatase-1 (PP1). The rat protein localizes to the nucleus and colocalizes with chromatin at distinct phases during mitosis. This gene lies within the major histocompatibility complex class I region on chromosome 6.
