Frizzled Homolog 10 (FZD10)
Frizzled homolog 10 (Drosophila), also known as FZD10, is is a member of the frizzled gene family. Members of this family encode 7-transmembrane domain proteins that are receptors for the Wingless type MMTV integration site family of signaling proteins. Most frizzled receptors are coupled to the beta-catenin canonical signaling pathway.
Using array analysis, expression of this intronless gene is significantly up-regulated in two cases of primary colon cancer. The deduced 581-amino acid protein, which is 66% identical to FZD9 , contains an N-terminal CRD; 7 transmembrane domains with 2 cys residues in the second and third extracellular loops; 2 N-linked glycosylation sites; and a C-terminal ser/thr-Xxx-val motif, which is a binding site for scaffold proteins with multiple PDZ domains.
