Allithiamine (TAD)
Allithiamine is a lipid-soluble form of vitamin B1 which occurs naturally in garlic. It is more bioavailable than the water-soluble form of vitamin B1, thiamine, and is the preferred form to be taken in case of a vitamin deficiency. oral allithiamine administration does not enhance isokinetic parameters of muscle performance or lactate accumulation prior to, during, and following isokinetic exercise. Animal studies, and some early research studies in humans, have suggested possible cardiovascular benefits of garlic. Many studies found garlic supplementation reduced accumulation of cholesterol on the vascular walls of animals and in humans Another study had similar results, with garlic supplementation significantly reducing aortic plaque deposits of cholesterol-fed rabbits. Another study showed supplementation with garlic extract inhibited vascular calcification in human patients with high blood cholesterol.
