The HTR-8/SVneo cell line is a well-characterized, immortalized extravillous trophoblast (EVT) model derived from first-trimester human placenta. Originally established by transfection of primary human trophoblasts with the simian virus 40 large T antigen (SV40 TAg).
HTR - 8/Svneo cell line is extensively utilized. It serves as an in - vitro model to explore normal placental development mechanisms, such as the regulation of trophoblast migration and invasion. Additionally, it plays a pivotal role in studying pregnancy disorders like pre - eclampsia.
