HGC-27

The HGC-27 cell line is another human gastric adenocarcinoma cell line that is widely used in cancer research. These cells were established from the primary tumor of a 62-year-old Japanese male patient with gastric cancer. Like the AGS cell line, HGC-27 cells exhibit characteristics of poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma and are used as a model system to study gastric cancer biology and therapeutic interventions.

Researchers utilize the HGC-27 cell line to investigate various aspects of gastric cancer, including tumor growth, metastasis, drug resistance, and molecular signaling pathways implicated in cancer progression. Studies using HGC-27 cells have provided insights into the mechanisms underlying gastric cancer development and have helped identify potential targets for therapeutic interventions.

In addition to its use in basic cancer research, the HGC-27 cell line has been employed in drug screening assays to test the efficacy of new anti-cancer compounds and to assess drug toxicity. These studies have contributed to the development of novel treatment strategies for gastric cancer and have expanded our knowledge of the disease.
