VK2/E6E7

VK2/E6E7 cell line is a spontaneously immortalized human vaginal epithelial cell line. These cells were derived from normal vaginal tissue and have been immortalized by introducing the E6E7 genes of human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV-16). The immortalization of these cells allows them to continuously proliferate in culture while maintaining characteristic features of vaginal epithelial cells.

VK2/E6E7 cells are commonly used as an in vitro model to study interactions between vaginal epithelial cells and pathogens, such as sexually transmitted infections, and to investigate epithelial cell responses to various stimuli. These cells can be cultured under laboratory conditions and are a valuable tool for research in the fields of reproductive biology, infectious diseases, and women's health.
