LNCaP Prostate Cancer Cells Clone FGC (LNCaP.FGC)

The LNCaP clone FGC cell line is a subline of the LNCaP prostate cancer cell line, which was derived from a metastatic lesion in the lymph node of a patient with prostate adenocarcinoma. The LNCaP cell line is one of the most widely used models for studying prostate cancer due to its androgen-dependent nature and resemblance to early-stage human prostate cancer. The LNCaP clone FGC cells were developed by Fractionation Gradient Centrifugation (FGC) to isolate a subpopulation of cells within the LNCaP line with unique characteristics or properties.

LNCaP clone FGC cell line serves as a valuable model for prostate cancer research, providing a platform to study the complex biology of this malignancy and test novel therapeutic strategies. Its use in preclinical studies and drug screening assays has contributed to the development of targeted therapies and precision medicine approaches for treating prostate cancer, ultimately improving patient outcomes and advancing our understanding of this common male neoplasm.
