Testis Specific Protein 10 Interacting Protein (TSGA10IP)
Using the differential mRNA display technique, Modarressi et al. (2001) isolated a novel cDNA, which they called TSGA10, encoding a deduced 698-amino acid protein with an estimated molecular mass of 81 kD. The protein, which is predicted to be soluble, contains many sites for N-glycosylation, phosphorylation by many kinases, and N-myristoylation. Northern blot analysis detected expression of a 3.2-kb transcript restricted to normal adult testis.
Modarressi et al. (2001) determined that the TSGA10 gene contains 19 exons spanning more than 80 kb. The gene has an alternative splice site at the 5-prime end of exon 4.By somatic cell hybrid analysis and FISH, Modarressi et al. (2001) mapped the TSGA10 gene to chromosome 2q11.2.

Organism species: Homo sapiens (Human)
