Methyltransferase 5 Domain Containing Protein 2 (METT5D2)

[Edit]

METTL15P1; Putative methyltransferase-like protein 15P1

Methyltransferase 5 Domain Containing Protein 2 (METT5D2)
METT5D2 Belongs to the methyltransferase superfamily. RsmH family. Six genes were selected on the basis of their hypoacetylated status (MTA3, HDAC1, ATRX, MBD2, MBD3, and METT5D1), whereas the remaining genes were identified because of promoter hyperacetylation (NAB2, TMF1, BRMS1L, BCAR3, CYP1B1, GADD45B, and BAX). Five of the six chosen hypoacetylated targets are genes with roles related to chromatin remodeling or are involved in transcriptional repression, whereas the sixth (METT5D1) encodes a novel, uncharacterized transcript that possesses a putative methyltransferase domain.
A methyltransferase is a type of transferase enzyme that transfers a methyl group from a donor to an acceptor.Methytransferases use a reactive methyl group bound to sulfur in S-adenosyl methionine (SAM) as the methyl donor.

Organism species: Homo sapiens (Human)
