Regulator Of Chromosome Condensation 2 (RCC2)

[Edit]

TD-60; RCC1-like protein TD-60; Telophase disk protein of 60 kDa

Regulator Of Chromosome Condensation 2 (RCC2)
RCC2 preferentially bound the nucleotide-free form of RAC1. the absence of RCC2 in HeLa cells substantially suppressed overall spindle assembly, blocked cells in prometaphase, and activated the spindle assembly checkpoint.TD60 is critical to localize both the chromosome passenger complex (CPC) and haspin kinase activity to centromeres and thus regulates Aurora B at several levels.
The deduced 522-amino acid protein contains an N-terminal nuclear localization signal, followed by 2 RCC1-2 motifs and 7 tandem RCC1-like repeats, each of which contains a hinge, an external sequence, and an RCC1-2 motif. Immunolocalization detected RCC2 at the inner centromere region in early mitotic HeLa cells.
