U87

The U87 cell line is a well-established and widely used human glioblastoma cell line in cancer research. Glioblastoma is the most common and aggressive form of primary brain tumor in adults. The U87 cell line was derived from a malignant glioblastoma tumor in a 44-year-old male patient in 1968.

U87 cells have been extensively characterized and are known to exhibit key molecular and cellular features of glioblastoma, including high proliferation rates, invasive growth behavior, and resistance to conventional therapies. These characteristics make the U87 cell line a valuable model for studying the biology of glioblastoma and developing new therapeutic strategies for this deadly disease.

U87 cell line plays a critical role in advancing our understanding of glioblastoma biology and in the development of novel therapeutic approaches for this challenging disease.
