Immune Receptor Expressed On Myeloid Cells 1 (IREM1)

CD300LF is an inhibitory receptor of the Ig superfamily expressed on myeloid cells.The predicted 290-amino acid protein shares 32% amino acid identity with CMRF35 (CD300C). It contains a 23-residue signal peptide, a 132-residue extracellular region, a 23-residue transmembrane domain, and a 112-residue cytoplasmic region. The extracellular region has a typical Ig-like domain and an N-linked glycosylation site, and the cytoplasmic region has 2 immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs) and an ITIM-like motif. Northern blot analysis revealed abundant expression of a 1.9-kb transcript in spleen, peripheral blood leukocytes, and lung, but only weak or no expression in all other tissues examined. RT-PCR analysis detected expression in DCs, monocytes, and monocytic cell lines, but not in T or B cells.
